Residential Life

Important learning continues to happen before and after school and on weekends. Living in a dormitory is a great environment for teaching and learning how to get along with others. The skills that are needed are taught and practiced.

Taking care of yourself (your personal hygiene) is one important lesson for many of our boys. Personal cleanliness and cleanliness of your surroundings is taught.

All students also have work to do. For some it is just chores and homework. Others may have jobs on campus. Still others may be employed off campus. The lessons all have to do with behaving in a responsible manner and doing what you are supposed to do.

Sometimes, our students need to learn how to have fun. They may not know how to have fun in good ways. Sports and a variety of recreational activities offer opportunities to do this with a group. Sometimes our students need to learn how to be alone. Quiet times are planned for reading, study, music listening, and other activities done alone.

We offer different opportunities for religious worship. Students are welcome to participate in these opportunities with parental permission.

Timber Ridge School is drug and tobacco free. We will help students who smoke to stop.
