Individualized Service Plan

Before a student comes to Timber Ridge School, and every year after that, we write an individualized service plan for each student. This plan meets the requirements of the IDEA Individualized Educational Program. It describes a student's needs, goals, services, and evaluation.

In addition to identifying an educational plan, the student's service plan includes development of character. While the emphasis is different in each plan, the central tasks are:

* To follow the rules and expectations at Timber Ridge School.
* To understand and explain the need for rules and laws in a community.
* To state his personal standards that govern his behavior.
* To demonstrate support for the rules and laws of the communities to which he belongs.
* To contribute to common group goals, either as a leader or as a team member.
* To behave consistently with rules and laws wherever he finds himself.
* To demonstrate initiative in encouraging and developing good behavior in others.
* To describe how he will face the challenges of living in his home community.
* To identify the community resources he can use in times of difficulty.
* To show on trial visits to the community an adaptive lifestyle.
