History

The Leary Educational Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 1969 to operate boarding and day schools to help underachieving students of normal potential. Since 1971, Timber Ridge School has operated continuously serving seriously emotionally disturbed and behaviorally disordered adolescent boys. The school is a charter member of VAISEF, the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. Since the inception of the VAISEF accreditation program, recognized by the Virginia Board of Education through the Virginia Council on Private Education, Timber Ridge School has maintained accreditation at the highest level.
